Our client is a well-established and highly regarded restaurant located in the heart of Quinta do Lago, one of the Algarve’s most prestigious dining destinations.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced General Manager to take full operational responsibility for the restaurant and act as the owner’s representative in their absence.

The Role
Reporting directly to the owner, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of the restaurant whilst taking ownership of service standards, team development and commercial performance.
This is a hands-on leadership position requiring someone equally comfortable leading from the restaurant floor whilst managing the wider operational aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operation of a busy premium restaurant.
- Act as the owner’s representative, taking full responsibility for the business in their absence.
- Recruit, onboard, train and develop front and back of house teams.
- Build a positive, motivated and high-performing team culture.
- Oversee purchasing, supplier relationships and stock management.
- Monitor labour costs, GP, budgets and overall financial performance.
- Ensure consistently exceptional guest experiences and service standards.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to maintain operational efficiency.
- Implement and improve operational procedures where required.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, health & safety and licensing requirements.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has experience managing an established hospitality operation rather than simply supervising service.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Restaurant Manager within premium hospitality.
- Strong commercial awareness with responsibility for budgets and financial performance.
- Experience recruiting, mentoring and developing teams.
- Excellent leadership skills with a calm, approachable management style.
- A hands-on approach with the ability to lead from the front.
- Experience managing purchasing, stock control and supplier relationships.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Fluent/ Professional level Portuguese and English is essential
