Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse to join a care home located
in a small village community in Santa Bárbara. This role involves providing high-
quality nursing care to residents from a mix of backgrounds, offering a more personal
and less fast-paced environment compared to traditional hospital settings.
You will join a supportive team of around 16 members, working closely with
management, carers, and support staff to ensure 24-hour continuous care.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver professional nursing care to residents within the care home.
• Work within the home’s rotating shift structure, ensuring continuity of
care.
• Administer medication and maintain accurate clinical records.
• Support residents with their individual health needs, including chronic
conditions.
• Liaise with families, external healthcare providers, and internal staff.
• Participate in care planning and evaluation.
• Conduct checks and maintain compliance with internal care standards
and regulations.
• Assist in managing emergencies and ensuring a safe environment.
• Provide support across the wider village properties when required.
Essential Requirements
• Valid nursing qualification.
• Registered with Ordem dos Enfermeiros (OE).
• Fluent in Portuguese and English (English particularly important due to
non-Portuguese-speaking residents).
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
• Willingness to work in a close-knit, village-based environment.
Desired Experience
• Previous experience in a care home, nursing home, or similar setting.
• Experience working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Management or supervisory experience is a plus.
• Previous work with agencies or multi-disciplinary teams beneficial.
Licences and Qualifications
