Housekeeper – Lagos
A warm and organised family recently relocated to Lagos, Portugal and are now seeking a full time housekeeper to join them. The household consists of a husband, wife, two children and two small dogs
The property is a modern 3-level 4 bed 5 bathrooms plus a lower-level entertainment area by the pool
The family is seeking a professional, permanent female Housekeeper who is energetic, proactive, highly organised, and able to take full ownership of the home’s housekeeping needs.
The ideal candidate sees what needs to be done without being asked, sets routines independently, and cares for both the home and the dogs with pride. Good Portuguese cooking skills and confidence with baking and traditional dishes are preferable.
Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping –
Daily cleaning of all rooms and communal areas
Deep cleaning, including windows and outdoor areas
Laundry, ironing, and excellent wardrobe management
Managing linens and ensuring everything is well-organised
Cooking (Preferable) –
Confident cooking of traditional Portuguese dishes
Baking skills
Meal preparation as required
Pets –
Daily care for two dogs (Scottish Terriers)
Feeding, general cleaning, and occasional errands related to pet care
Household Support
Shopping and errands if needed, including occasional support for parents
Home organisation and maintaining a structured routine
Occasional evening availability
Details –
Working Hours : Monday–Friday
Approx. 7.5 working hours per day
Reasonably flexible on times, can discuss.
Weekends: Not required
Evenings: Occasionally, if needed
(May require to stay over while away, to look after the children + dogs from time to time at an agreed cost).
Travel: Yes, must be willing and able . Must have own car and license.
Candidate Requirements
Proven experience in private household housekeeping
Fluent Portuguese, plus good English
Driving licence with own means of transport.
Energetic, self-motivated, organised, proactive
Pet-friendly and confident with small dogs
Non-smoker preferred.
